[this is a back-issue of this website’s newsletter]
It’s making headlines!
Ba-dum!
Ok, no more silly jokes, I promise. Cross my heart!
However, speaking of headlines, Dr Mike’s Math Games for Kids is also making them – sort of…! The website enjoyed a four-page write-up in the Gujarati language, in a monthly magazine in India called CyberSafar. If you speak Gujarati, head over to www.cybersafar.com and check out the April issue.
It’s not exactly the New York Times, of course, but it’s still great to know that people all over the world are finding Dr Mike’s Math Games for Kids useful for helping kids learn maths! When I started this website, I never dreamed such a wide variety of people would be helped by the almost 100 free games and other resources I’ve been uploading. I love to hear your stories.
Number Mazes I say “almost 100 games”. The latest game on the site is the 99th. It’s a set of Printable Number Mazes. Each maze is a grid of numbers. You need to find your way from the Start to the End, taking only vertical or horizontal steps, and making sure the total of the numbers you pass is a given number. There are four sizes of maze available – simple 3×3 mazes suitable for younger kids, more difficult 4×3 mazes, and tough 5×3 and 4×4 mazes.
Pop over to the site now and have a look. Print out as many as you like. If you find your kids love these puzzles, you’ll never run out, since the website can generate fresh new puzzles for you any time you like. Of course, if you want more traditional mazes with a math theme, you can download and print my Times Table Mazes instead.
Try them, you’ll be amazed! Oops, sorry, did I really say no more silly jokes?
Anyway, ask your friends to sign up for this newsletter so that they won’t miss the next newsletter, when I announce the 100th math game I add to Dr Mike’s Math Games for Kids.
Yours,
Michael Hartley
