[This is a back-issue of this website’s newsletter]
I got an email the other day, asking if I could suggest a fractions game. The fractions card game I have didn’t quite seem suitable, so I suggested fractions dominoes. Over the weekend, I made up a printable set of fractions dominoes, and uploaded it to the website.
The fractions card game requires players to add and subtract fractions. The fractions dominoes game tests more basic fractions skills – players only have to match a written fraction with a segment of a circle.
So, jump on to the website, and download and print the fractions dominoes. There are 49 dominoes in the set. You could print them onto cardboard and have the kids hold them like cards, or paste the dominoes onto some firm backing so they are more like ordinary dominoes.
By the way, don’t forget to get your kids working on the Big Numbers Contest!
